Quickstart
1. Create an account
Section titled “1. Create an account”Sign up at app.jitprompt.com with Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub, or with your email and a password. With a password, open the link we email you to verify your address; Google and GitHub have already verified it. Your account comes with an organization of its own.
2. Create a namespace
Section titled “2. Create a namespace”A namespace holds the documents one agent (or one topic) needs, and API keys
are issued per namespace. On your organization’s page, under Create a
namespace, type a name such as support-bot.
Names are lowercase letters, digits, ., _ and -, up to 64 characters.
3. Upload your instructions
Section titled “3. Upload your instructions”Open the namespace and upload a file: Markdown (.md), text (.txt), PDF or
Word (.docx). Give it a title — it prefixes every section in search, so
“Refund policy” beats “policy_v3_final”.
The document goes through pending → parsing → structuring → embedding → ready, usually in under a minute. The page updates by itself.
4. Create an API key
Section titled “4. Create an API key”Open API keys in the namespace and create one, labelled after the agent that will use it. Copy it now — it is shown once. The page then shows ready-made connection snippets with the key filled in.
5. Connect your agent
Section titled “5. Connect your agent”With Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http jitprompt-support-bot https://app.jitprompt.com/mcp \ --header "Authorization: Bearer imcp_..."Then ask Claude Code something your document covers. It calls get_toc,
then search_instructions, and answers from your text.
Other clients: Claude Desktop, Anthropic API, any MCP client.
6. Check what the agent gets
Section titled “6. Check what the agent gets”On the namespace page, Try a search shows exactly what
search_instructions returns for a plan you type — which sections, in what
order, and how each one was matched. The Diagnostics page shows the calls
your agents actually made.
