jitprompt's docs over MCP

These docs are themselves stored in a jitprompt namespace. Your agent can read them the same way it reads your instructions: add one more MCP server, at https://app.jitprompt.com/mcp/docs, with any of your API keys.

Terminal window
claude mcp add --transport http jitprompt-docs https://app.jitprompt.com/mcp/docs \
--header "Authorization: Bearer imcp_..."

Then ask your agent things like “upload our policies folder to jitprompt from GitHub Actions” or “connect this LangChain agent to jitprompt”, and it looks up the answer here instead of guessing.

  • Same tools: get_toc, get_section and search_instructions, with the same arguments and output (see MCP tools).
  • Read-only: the key is only used to sign in. Nothing in your namespace is read or changed, and calls aren’t counted against your plan.
  • Separate from your instructions: keep /mcp (your namespace) and /mcp/docs (these docs) as two servers, so your agent never mixes jitprompt’s docs with your own rules.
  • Any client works: use the settings in Other MCP clients with the URL above.

The same docs power Ask jitprompt, the assistant at the bottom right of the website, these docs and the app.
